A HISTORIC WALK TO REMEMBER

Dear Friends,

The Stop Lynas! Movement will be organizing a STOP LYNAS! Solidarity Walk this Friday (20th of May, 2011) from KLCC to the Australian High Commission. The walk will end with the handing of the people's memorandum to the Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia.

This event is jointly organized by THE PEOPLE'S GREEN COALITION, KUANTAN ENVIRONMENTAL WATCH GROUP & SAVE MALAYSIA.

We will rendezvous/converge in the vicinity of the KLCC Park (near the mosque) shortly after the Friday prayers at 2pm & will proceed to the Australian High Commission on Jalan Yap Kwan Seng shortly after.

It is our hope that you will be able to join us in this historic event and show your support to us, the people of Malaysia, who oppose to an industry that leaves behind unimaginable amounts of radioactive waste on our beloved land. Through this walk, we are sending the government of Malaysia a resounding message that we will never allow our environment and health to be sacrificed in the name of profit. And most importantly this walk is a showcase that the rights and voices of the people of Malaysia needs to be championed. Many prominent activists and opposition politicians will be joining us for the walk.

Anyone who is a representative or member of the Malaysian Bar Council, NGO or any Civil Society will be issued a Human Rights Monitor tag.

We need your cooperation to monitor the Police force (particularly the FRU) so that they do not violate the rights of any participants on that particular day.

TOGETHER, regardless of race, religion, social & economic standing WE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE! Hope to see you there on Friday!
